Ms Robinson is a senior career officer with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT). Prior to taking up her position as Deputy High Commissioner in Singapore, she was the DFAT Spokesperson and Assistant Secretary of the Communications and Parliamentary Branch. She was promoted to First Assistant Secretary in 2021. Ms Robinson has served as Deputy Head of Mission in Dili and Baghdad, and has been posted to Geneva. She has previously worked for the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet and the former Department of Climate Change and Energy Efficiency.

Ms Robinson is admitted as a lawyer to the Supreme Court of the Australian Capital Territory.
