2. Transportation
• Our partner airlines Singapore Airlines offers carbon emission offsets through their Carbon Offset Programme.
• We encourage taking public transport. Most participating hotels as well as the Sands Expo & Convention Centre are accessible by public transport. Nearest MRT Station to Sands Expo is Bayfront MRT Station (CE1 on Circle Line / DT1 on Downtown Line).
3. Minimising Resources and Recycling Efforts
• Paper-less and Paper-light – We are minimising the use of paper during the conference. Only minimum unavoidable printing materials will be produced. Notepaper will be available for participants centrally to minimise waste.
• Receptacles will be made available to collect name badges on 30 March 2023 for recycle and reuse purposes.
• Plastic free: No plastic water bottles will be in use, participants will be encouraged to bring their own water bottle. Water dispensers will be made available at the event venues in place of bottled water. Forum badges will be plastic free.
4. Food Sustainability
• Where possible, catered meals will feature menu items with low environmental impacts and available locally and/or in season, and avoid overcatering to reduce food wastage.
5. Destination
• Singapore has always prioritised sustainability and placed it at the forefront of its long-term plan. In 2009, Singapore launched the first Sustainable Singapore Blueprint to continuously outline strategies that will improve our green footprint by year 2030. Green measures are now woven into the infrastructure of the economy, with emphasis placed on reducing waste and increasing the use of renewable energy sources like solar power. Businesses are also rewarded for sustainable business practices as the government ramps up efforts to create a green economy with green jobs.
